I am writing to express my support for Marion O’Neill to be our next representative for Minnesota House District 29B. Marion worked with me in my Certified Public Accounting firm in Buffalo. During that time, she proved her integrity, intelligence and work ethic. I learned, as many others have, that if you need something done, ask Marion! Marion understands the challenges facing small and midsized businesses in greater Minnesota. Unlike the other candidates, Marion has practical experience in helping businesses comply with the tax laws and management issues they face. She has also seen that many of the policies and programs touted by politicians often do not work in the real world. Given the economic problems facing our nation, it is critical that we have public servants with first- hand knowledge of how government decisions affect business, and how businesses operate.
For too long we have operated on a paradigm in which government overtaxes the public, and then attempts to target spending and manage the economy according to the judgment of politicians. This has never worked. History has proven that no group of leaders is wise enough to efficiently control a complex economy. And the temptation for politicians to consolidate power by doling out political patronage has proven irresistible, leading all too often to corruption and waste. If unchecked, this trend leads to economic collapse.
Nearly everyone knows that our nation is facing high unemployment, a slow-growth economy, and unsustainable deficits. What most people don’t know is that we encountered similar problems on several other occasions in the last 100 years, and each time the solution has included some common elements. Presidents Warren Harding, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush all had to contend with these problems. Each of these presidents responded by getting Congress to cut income tax rates. When tax rates were cut, economic activity increased. Ironically, this resulted in increased total tax revenues. The outcome was increased employment, reduced budget deficits, and economic growth.
Marion O’Neill understands these things. During a time when the Democrat party is aggressively pursuing policies that are observably harmful, we do not need people whose main goal in the legislature is compromise. It is always easier to promise things to voters, or to compromise, than to advocate for principles that are economically sound. Marion O’Neill has the knowledge and integrity to stand up for what is best for Minnesota.

I would like to show my whole hearted support for the candidacy of Marion O'Neill running for Minnesota House of Representatives. I have known Marion for the last several years, and I can tell you that Marion works hard at everything that she does. She works her full-time job at the State Senate and at the same time runs her tile setting business with her husband and still finds time to volunteer in our community.
I would like to first point out that because of her work ethic, dedication to the community, talents and abilities, Marion was asked to seek this position by our current state representative, Bruce Anderson. Bruce first broached the subject in 2007, just after his first wife Dottie passed away and he was considering retirement. After getting remarried, Bruce is currently seeking election to the Minnesota Senate after faithfully serving us for 18 years in the House of Representatives. When he made his decision to run for the open Senate seat, he again asked Marion to run for his House seat.
Marion's reputation is strong in our community. For the past ten years, she has volunteered with our local prisoners, working with a jail ministries program in the Wright County Detention Center. She also hosts the One Way Youth Group once a month at her home. She feeds nearly 30 teenagers dinner and then the teens hold their youth group in her home. She and her husband take turns teaching the lesson. Marion has served as a Director for AWANA, a children's ministry and for the Angel Tree Program that delivers Christmas gifts to the children of prisoners. She has also worked full-time as a Director for Minnesota Teen Challenge, a drug and alcohol recovery program in Minneapolis.
Marion has a "servants heart" and what more could we ask of our public servants other that a strong desire to serve the public?
I know that Marion is a fiscal and social conservative who will serve us well if elected. Please help me support Marion O'Neill as our candidate to the Minnesota House of Representatives District 29 B.

The Right Person for the Right Job
In these tough and challenging economic times, we, as voters, need to seek out leaders who have outstanding qualities to guide us to a better tomorrow.
I think there are three attributes that stand out when describing Marion O’Neil, candidate for the District 29B Minnesota State House Representative, Integrity, Honesty and Perseverance.
Marion’s experience as a Legislative Aid at the State Capital makes her uniquely qualified to represent us as our State Representative. Marion has developed solid relationships with many legislative members in both the State House and Senate.
My wife and I have worked side by side with Marion and her family, volunteering in programs that benefited many people in the Buffalo community.
As a small business owner Marion has experienced the challenges that we all face in this stagnant economy.
Marion is the right person for the State Representative for District 29B to help lead us to a better tomorrow.

I am writing to express my support and endorsement for Marion O’Neill for the State House District 29B. I have known Marion and her family very well for the past ten years. Marion is a lady of high integrity, honesty, good character and strong faith.
I have personally worked with Marion and her husband, Tom over the past ten years as volunteers for the Wright County Jail “Up With Worship” program. Our group of volunteers put on a worship service each Sunday morning at the Wright County Jail. I have also watched Marion work tirelessly as a Minnesota Senate staffer. As such, she has not only learned her way around Minnesota State government and how the legislature works, but most importantly, she has learned how to “listen” to citizens’ concerns and move forward accordingly. Marion has developed a passion to carry “our” concerns to the legislature, not just her personal agenda.

Hello there. Let me tell you about my friend Marion O'Neill. She is intelligent, hard working, and dedicated to helping people. Wherever she goes and whatever she does it is for the good of everyone. She encourages people to reach beyond what they think they are able to do. I can say this from personal experience. She has motivated me in many areas of my life encouraging me to take that next step.
As a result of this encouragement I have grown in many ways. She will work hard for all of us when she is elected as State Representative for District 29B. She does an incredible job as a wife-mother-business woman and friend. Oh and one more thing, She is beautiful inside and out.
Lori Maus, Marysville Twp. Former AWANA Commander at the Buffalo Evangelical Free Church
This letter is in support of Marion O’Neill for State Representative 29B.
As a former AWANA commander at the Buffalo Evangelical Free Church, I had the opportunity to work with Marion. She was always prompt, prepared and dedicated to do her job as a Truth and Training Director. She led her team of 10 adults effectively and she won the hearts of 40 teenagers by her enthusiasm, care and listening skills. She was a great leader and teacher. It was a blessing to work with Marion.
I also saw Marion work at the Buffalo Food Shelf. She was the financial advisor for the nonprofit organization. She was diligent at getting the books done, applying for grants, organizing fundraisers, and overseeing the finances. I even saw her do this when she was extremely ill. Her dedication to her job and the people is remarkable.
Marion is an active participant in the lives of many people. She has co-coached baseball, taught and led at One Way Youth Group, served clients at the food shelf, visited the elderly at the nursing homes, and faithfully leads worship at the Wright County Jail.
Although 29B is no longer my district, due to redistricting, I wanted to inform you that Marion has the qualities we need in our State Representative. Please vote for Marion O’Neill State Representative 29B on November 6.
Carol Elliot Olson, Buffalo Resident - Former Board Member Buffalo Food Shelf
November 6 will be a day very important to our House District 29B. We need to go to the polls and vote for Marion O’Neill so she can go to work for us.
I first got to know Marion when she was on the Buffalo Food Shelf when I was on the Council and served with her. She came aboard when the Buffalo Food Shelf was growing at a staggering pace. Nancy Campbell had done a superior job getting us into a new larger facility. Jill Ask became our new president and Marion came on as our financial leader. Marion was able to take numbers and put them in logical easy to read format. She also investigated rules and regulations for which she had to bring us up to a compliant state with the government. She did this with such ease helping the council to understand all the regulations demanded of the Buffalo Food Shelf. She did this at the same time working on all the fundraisers, thank you events and a multitude of other volunteer projects.
This is an example by which Marion operates. She is so competent that the way she works and gets things done it would make an average person’s head spin.
Marion is not thrown off guard with all the government regulations, compliance and taxes that are put upon businesses. There is no doubt in my mind that she will be able to work across the political lines to get government to be less intrusive. She is very intelligent in areas of taxes, education, business laws, and will help get waste removed from our lives.
You will not find a person with more integrity, she is an honest Christian with whom I have enjoyed working with and I know she will represent us in our State Capitol with pride and great character to help provide us with a constitutionally sound government.
Vote Marion on November 6. I know my husband Duane Olson and I will be voting for her.
